Amsterdam Book Club never asks authors for payment

Amsterdam Book Club never asks authors, agents, publishers or publicists for payment to feature, select, host, promote or discuss a book. We do not charge “spotlight fees”, request paid features or send payment links for these purposes.

If you receive a message claiming to be from Amsterdam Book Club and asking for payment, fees or paid promotion, please treat it as fraudulent.

Only trust our official domain:

How to verify us

Official Amsterdam Book Club updates or communications are shared through our website, Meetup page and official Instagram account. Any direct email outreach from Amsterdam Book Club will come from an @amsterdambookclub.com email address. We do not use Gmail, Outlook, Yahoo or similar free email accounts for author outreach.

If you received a suspicious message

  1. Do not pay any requested fee.
  2. Do not click payment links or share personal details.
  3. Save screenshots of the email, sender address, website link and payment request.
  4. Report it to your local fraud, cybercrime or consumer protection authority.

What the scam may look like

Scammers may use a similar-looking email address, copy parts of our website or claim that your book has been selected for a feature, spotlight, interview, reading event or discussion. They may then ask for an administrative fee, promotional fee, participation fee or payment to secure the opportunity.

These messages are not from Amsterdam Book Club. We do not ask authors, agents, publishers or publicists for money to be considered by our club.
